Economy effecting everyone.
The economy being bad is actually not a new thing, in actuality, it has been on a downhill run for the last decade.
The midwest has been especially hard hit due to the automaker layoffs, and unemployment rates have doubled and tripled in towns in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.
Some of this was said to be due to a lot of us living beyond our means for so long.
Household income has dropped by 79 percent in some cities and towns. Nationally incomes have dropped by 4.3 percent.
Athens, Ohio has the highest poverty rate at 52.3 percent in the 2005 to 2007 period.
The bottom line, when you think about it is that jobs have been on the decrease for the last decade due to things like NAFTA, where are factories are being sent to other countries.
Someone on "the hill" needs to see to it that jobs are brought back and that the minimum wage is increased to the place where even part time workers are able to pay their bills.
