COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Gasoline prices are up a nickel this week around Ohio, amid forecasts for much higher prices by the spring.
A survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts the statewide average cost of regular-grade gas at $3.08 a gallon, up from $3.03 last Monday.
Pump prices nationwide have risen nearly 9 percent since the beginning of December, to the highest levels since October 2008. The cost of a gallon of regular may rise or fall a little over the next few months, but analysts expect it to range between $3.20 and $3.75 by March and April ahead of the summer driving season.
One year ago, Ohio's average price was $2.60 a gallon.
