Default Government shutdown looms

Democrats and Republicans are taking their positions on the 2011 budget as a U.S. government shutdown looms at the end of this week.

If a deal isn't struck by this Friday, the government will be shut down with disruptions and likely political fallout, The Washington Post reported. What will this do to anyone getting a monthly goverment check of any kind?

The Democratic and Republican aides said negotiationswas conducted over the weekend to develop a bill that includes $33 billion in spending cuts, despite the public comments to the contrary made by party leaders. However, rather than announce a deal has been reached, the potential bill would be floated to determine whether there were enough votes to pass it.

Observers say what is a unknown reaction of the 87 GOP House freshman elected on Tea Party campaign pledges of slashing government spending.

This happened in 1995 but we made it through.

But what bothers me is that our military may not get paid and their families. You cant just not pay the people that protect our country. What are they thinking?

And medicare may also suffer in as much as older citizens would have to find other companies to fill the medicare needs and its going to cost them a lot more money to pay for it and they dont have much as it is.

Shoot instead of taking away from all of us in this budget cut, cut back on the actual government spending. Cut back on the presidents vacations, and other programs for congressmen and senators etc. They all get free medical help, now its time they pay for it just like we do.

I could go on and on here but its like whipping a dead horse.

If all those in power in this country would curb their spending, take less vacations on the peoples dime, this country would be in a hell of a lot better shape than it's in right now. The trips that the president takes which aren't really needed cost us some serious coinage and it's a waste of money. Why isn't the government forced to cut back their spending like the people have been forced to do? If the people are gonna be forced to suffer why in the hell are those in power still living large like they have no worries in life....Oh yeah because they are taking our money leaving us with nothing.

Everyone could go on and on about this though as Moneysense said it's like whipping a dead horse.
