High Priced Gasoline, No Time Soon
According to the AAA daily survey, the price of gasoline has jumped this week by around 10%, though it is not expected to return to those record highs of $4.00 or more per gallon as they were this past summer.
Even with the gasoline prices jumping by around sixteen cents this week, it still remains around 56% cheaper than it was this summer.
The slowdown in the economy forced drivers to seek other means of transportation and to close their wallets. This shift is still in effect as most are realizing at just how much can be saved by the use of other transportation methods, along with the factor that we are still in a recession.
524,000 job losses in December is another factor for the drop in the price of gasoline. With out a job to get to many dont have much need to drive.
It is estimated that the price of gasoline may increase in the near future though its not expected to make any major jumps at least for the next several months.
