Home economics.
Yes I said it. Many of us took this class in high school We had to learn a few things about taking care of our home. Now we must learn a few about taking care of our communities and families.
The economy is so strained right now. I see lots of people out shopping but they all lossk so unhappy about it. They are searching the shelves for the items the need and want and some don't pick up anything after the look at the prices.
I have realized that we aren't going to make it. This has finally broken the backs off the poor and is straining the middle class. No one can make enough money to keep up. What little they are making isn't going as far as it used to.
I have friends who are in real trouble and I try to help as much as I can. I pick up extran meat or other items and drop them by their homes. If I didn't do this I know that they would have to go hungry.
I could not live with this knowledge. I know that times are hard and that there is little that we can do to change things but we can make a difference. If we pull together and put our heads together all can be fed.
Share a meal. Take an item that you have and go to anothers home and then they can add what they have. Community potluck is what I like to call it. If you only do this once a week you still know that on that one day everyone goes to bed satisfied and happy.
