Default More businesses closing.

An area Chemical company that has been in business since 1971, will be closing its doors forever due to hard economic times.

The company will close down on January 31st, causing the loss of 55 jobs. These jobs are termed as "well paying" jobs and this will only add a burden to the area, as more and more people hit the unemployment lines.

Complaints that people just arent spending money these days are causing more economic turmoil is to be expected as more and more people are losing their jobs and looking to unemployment to see them through until another job can be found.

Then, on top of that, there are states that are running out of unemployment funds, so where will that leave everyone. More houses and cars will be lost than have happened in the recent past, putting more and more people on the streets, or living with relatives.

The big $700B "bailout" is to help? But who is it helping? Big business, thats who. But what about the little business that are the backbone of the nation? What about all the people that are going to end up losing everything? Someone out there has to have the answers.

Default Re: More businesses closing.

It's such a shame that so many of the country's small businesses are going under. You are right, they are the backbone of the country and having so many of them going out of business is going to hurt the country even further.

I'd think that some of that bailout money could go to keeping these small businesses in the black, instead of just feeding the big banks and other businesses out there. After all, it seems that those banks aren't even complying with the government's rules for getting that money in the first place.
