Default More job layoffs in 2009

Forecasters are expecting more job layoffs this year, with a 39% job layoffs in the next 6 months.

This current recession started in 2007 and forecasters say it will stretch into 2009. 2.9 million jobs were lost during 2008, which is the most jobs lost since 1945.

And it is not expected that the new Stimilus package will do much to rectify the situation. With most people putting this money "away" for even harder times, I dont look for much of it to spent.

This recession deepened during the last part of 2008 and it sure doesnt look like there is going to be any kind of improvement any time soon.

Default Re: More job layoffs in 2009

Every time I read a newspaper or hear a news report it seems that more and more jobs are being cut. The problems with our economy are not going to be easy to solve, or get solved overnight. I don't expect to see much relief any time soon - stimulus package or not.

I think any money that does come in will either be saved for worse times, as you said, or to catch up on some of the bills that keep coming in with no money to pay them with. I don't see people just spending on things that aren't necessary.
