Default Obama orders pay freeze.

One of the first things Barak Obama has done as president, was to put a pay freeze on all White House employees who make over $100,000 a year.

This sent the message of "We're in this together" to a country that is facing a great economic challenge these days.

I must give kudos to Obama for starting out on such a positive note, and must note here that many businesses have taken on the pay freeze option instead of laying off any more employees than they have to.

Some of the companies that have done, or are doing this is Cummins, which is an engine maker for trucks and bulldozers, etc.

Also Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City are doing the pay freeze also.

Avis put a pay freeze on management plus laid off over 2200 employees in order to cut costs.

Caterpillar is cutting its executive compensation by 50%.

Even though these pay freezes are great, there will still, unfortunately, be layoffs, but perhaps this will help keep layoffs to a bare minimum.

Default Re: Obama orders pay freeze.

Its about time we got a realist into office. This is a man who knows what this country needs.

We need more people like him in office. We also need companies to follow his example.

There are too many unemployed people in this country now. More means less money being spent and a bigger chance of the country falling apart.
