Default One Million Lost Unemployment Benefits

Wow, I just read that one million people have lost or will lose unemployment benefits this month because for the third time the senate failed to extend the deadline to file for it.

Quote:
Hoping to overcome deficit concerns, the Senate trimmed down the bill yet again on Wednesday night so that it would only increase the deficit by $33.3 billion over 10 years, instead of $55.1 billion. The main changes were to scale back additional medical funding for the states and to reallocate some stimulus and Defense Department spending.

The legislation failed by a 57-41 vote. Democrats needed 60 votes to overcome the GOP fillibuster of the bill.
Hey, I am sickened already by our nations debt but the government cannot just let these people starve and lose their homes because they cannot find a job. There still are not that many jobs available. I have no idea what these one million people are going to do. This is aweful.

Default Re: One Million Lost Unemployment Benefits

That's sad. We can only hope for the best. I know that a lot of people are loosing their jobs and its really hard for anyone to get let alone keep a job now days.

I don't understand why when other parts of the world have cristist were suppose to jump right up and send them money. Im not saying i don't feel bad for them and everything but its hard enough making sure my family has food on the table and a place to live.

I don't understand how america can afford to send money and food across seas when our country is falling apart over here. We have homeless people living out on the streets no food, water, nothing and were suppose to send our hard earned money across seas to help people out when we can even help out our own here.
