Default Stimulus Package Should Be Ready in January

Another stimulus package is currently in the works according to House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. She says that this is a top priority for the government. She also says that it should be ready by early January of 2009.

They are currently working on what needs to be added to the package that will boost the economy and give a breath of life to the job market. Pelosi says that at this time she has put no price tag on the new package. She believes that it will need to be bigger than they originally thought because of the further downward spiral the economy has taken.

Earlier this year, President Bush signed a bill for a stimulus package in the amount of $168 billion dollars. This package did not have the effect that the government thought that it would have on the economy.

This is good news for those of us who are struggling to heat our homes and feed our families. I was under the impression that the government had decided not to go ahead with another stimulus package for the general public, but was only going to help businesses.
