Default The economic truth.

Do you believe everything that they tell you? The way I see it is that by the time we are told that we are in a recession it is already over. If we are being told that the recession is expected to continue we are in a depression.

The definition of a recession-
a period of an economic contraction, sometimeslimited in scope or duration.

A depression is defined as-
a period during which business, employment, andstock-market values decline severely or remain at a very lowlevel of activity.

I believe that the government doesn't want to say it so we will believe that things are ok. If we knew the truth we would not spend our money on the things that we have been. We would be saving more and buying less and they don't want that.

I agree with you. And we have been in a prolonged period of economic downs.

There are many job losses and very few people getting back to work, the real estate sector is still suffering, and people are still living from paycheck to paycheck.

There is no room any more in peoples budgets for vacations, or a newer car, and many other things that they cant afford to do.

And I sure dont see any help forthcoming to create jobs for those that are unemployed right now. So many businesses have closed their doors already. So those jobs are just gone.

And yes we are at very low levels of all you mentioned and I agree with you that we are not told the complete truth in this matter.

It has always been my belief that the government treats us like children. They only tell us what they want us to hear not the whole truth.

If they did tell us the truth we wouldn't be so willing to keep them in office. We would fight harder for what we wanted and would not continue to let them live the lives that they do.

They would be help accountable like the rest of us and they can't stand the thought of that. I want my government to be the kind of government that our founding fathers fought so hard for.
