Default The Economy and the Auto Makers

We keep hearing that our nations automobile manufacturers are seeking help from the government to help them re-tool to be able to make more fuel efficient cars. Of course then we hear that the companies' executives seem to be squandering what money they do have.

In any case, car sales are way down, November being the worst month yet. Our "Big Three" auto makers are not the only ones seeing sales falling, as foreign auto makers are also being hit with fewer sales this year. Even with cars being sold at discounted prices, people just don't seem to be able or willing to purchase them right now.

Most of the manufacturers are saying that they'll be producing fewer automobiles in this quarter and the first quarter of the new year.

I feel that the executives of the auto industry should look at their own salaries and money that they use for private planes, etc, and pare down their spending to help out the industry. After all, if the auto industry bites the dust here in our country they will be out of a job...........an extremely lucrative job from what I've read.
