The republicans want a say in the new stimulus plan. Congressional republicans say they want to work with the democrats in crafting a plan which will stimulate the economy. But they will do so only if GOP ideas are taken into consideration on a bill that might cost as much as $1T.

We need the right mix of tax relief and other measures to grow the economy.

With the democrats planning to pass a stimulus bill before President-elect Obama takes office, it gives Congress not much time to consider what will be in the bill.
With the economy being what it is these days, I doubt that many people will be spending the money they would get from the stimulus plan, I think it will be salted away for what some might think as even harder times that may be coming in the future.
And, if the money isnt spent, where does that leave the economy, except right in the same dire straits it is in right now.
