Default To Save or Not To Save....

Is it better to save money right now because of the bad economy or is it better to spend? Some say you should spend right now to help the economy rise from the ashes.

Just a few years ago, all of the experts were saying that Americans were not saving enough. Now they all say we should save less and spend more.

They say that it isn't because Americans are saving at a historical rate or anything but that the number of people saving and the amounts of money they are saving has sharply risen in the last few months. That is because people are afraid of what is to come and are trying to prepare by saving.

Right now though, economists say we should all spend to give the economy a boost. Theya re saying that now is not the time to be saving more.

I have to say that right now because no one knows just what the future is going to be like, that we do need to save some money. Then again I can see where spending would give a boost to our economy. This is why a happy medium is needed. Save some of your money but not as much as you do normally. Use part of what you would normally save and spend it.
This way each of us are doing our part in both saving for the unknown future and helping to boost our economy.

For me and my husband it is very hard for us to save any money at all. As soon as we seem to get any money at all, something happens. Like the car breaks down, roof leaks, bathroom will have problems and so on. We like almost everyone else live paycheck to paycheck. I really do with we could save. My mother in law tells me to save at least $5.00 a week, and by the end of our time before we get paid again, i have to borrow $5.00 from her. LOL
