Default Auto Insurance Differences

This is funny, today my old man called about adding me to his insurance so that if I needed to drive his car I would be covered.

He pays nearly $100.00 per month for his insurance, yet adding me will only cost him $20.00 per month more.

My insurance the last time I had a car because only cost me $35.00 a month. I know it also depends on the insurance company, but even then it seems insurance is always less expensive for women.

It is always cheaper for a woman to have insurance than it is for a man. I guess they think men are more irresponsible behind the wheel. Though I have seen a bunch of women behind the wheel doing some seriously dumb stuff that could have caused an accident.

Then again I have seen men doing the very same thing at times.

You really need to shop around to get good rates, men do cost more then women with almost any company.

What amazes me is the fact that insurance for a teenage boy is much more expensive than for a girl, and the girls drive a lot faster than the boys do and usually never go anywhere alone which means they are talking more and paying less attention.

So I have to wonder why insurance for guys is so much more expensive as you see more women on their cell phones and texting than you do guys.

Sometimes I dont think the guys get a fair deal.

What I really don't understand is why the rates vary so much and they want to raise the rates for every licensed driver in the household when they clearly tell you they insure the vehicle not the driver.

If I am paying a high rate for my teenage daughter it should cover her in any vehicle but no you insure the vehicle not the driver. So shouldn't the rate be the same regardless of who the "potential" drivers may be?
