Default Cracked Windsheilds

This really stinks. Today my sweetie and I were out and about doing some shopping and what not and while we were going down the road a rock from the car in front of us flew into the windsheild and cracked it.

Now he is going to have to contact the insurance company and have that fixed because it is pretty bad. It very nearly shattered the windsheild but thankfully it didn't. Though it is to the point where the car can't be driven.

He is on the phone right now trying to get this taken care of. I hope they do something quickly because this is horrible.

Just a couple of years ago about 2 weeks after he had gotten the car a neighborhood kid took a brick and busted out the back window of the car. This poor car has seen some serious damage and oddly enough it was never my old man's fault.

Well good news is that they are sending out someone to take a look at the windsheild, take pictures and then get it replaced or they will get him a rental until it can be replaced.

Thank heaven for insurance. It can really save ya when things like this happen to ya.

It is great that the windshield will be replaced or a rental provided until it is.

What is hard on most of us is that we only have liability insurance on our cars and not full coverage. So if something like this happens, we have to buy the windshields and change it ourselves or pay cash to have it done for us. Which can be rather expensive.

I've heard in the past that some insurance companies will replace cracked windshields at no cost. I don't know the particulars, but it might be worth checking into...

That's for sure. My friend had to have the windshield replaced on his 07 VW Jetta and it was like $400. Luckily enough he had full coverage because of the loan against the car, but even so, his deductible was $250.

It's crazy nowadays, but then again, windshields are 10,000% safer than they were 50-60 years ago..

I don't know how much insurance covereage he has, I am just glad that the windsheild is going to be replaced. I miss his car and look forward to getting it fixed and back on the road again.

To get his windsheild fixed he will have for fork over a whopping $45.00 which to me is well worth getting a new windsheild.

I just look forward to it being all done and over with. I miss his car. It is very comfy and I want it back, lol.

I just hope that this is the last time that something like this happens. It is horrible having to adjust your life because of unexpected little things like this happen.
