Default Fire Hydrants

This is very helpful and many don't seem to know this. If you have a fire hydrant near your home it will lower the costs of your home owners insurance.

At my old man's place they have been replacing water lines for the last month and while they were doing this they also added in more fire hydrants to the area.

Once this was done, I had my other half contact his insurance company and inform them of the fact that a fire hydrant was just installed across the street from his place.

The next day someone came by to verify this information and after speaking to the insurance agent, we discoverd that this would in fact lower his insurance.

Any time something like this is done in your area, which I know is not that often, but when it is done, be sure to contact your insurance company to see if the improvements that are being done will lower the costs of your insurance. It never hurts to try.
