Default Medication drive up insurance costs.

I have recently seen a bunch of ads that state that medications like Prozac can drive up your insurance costs.
Why is that?
It seems to me that as long as you have prescription coverage you shouldn't have an issue. I am not sure if it is because of the medication type or the cost of the medication itself.
What I do know is that I already pay to much to have these services and don't intend to have to pay more.
I want to see some real regulation of insurance companies. I never want to have to tell my doctor that I can't take that medication or a recommended treatment because it will cause my premium to increase.
We need to have the right to have any medication or treatment deemed to be medically necessary by our physician. It is time to stop the games and keep America healthy.

It is unreal to me what they charge for medications and treatments and how much it costs to have insurance. Something does need to be done to cap off what they can charge because it is way out of hand.

Hopefully the new regulations that are coming about because of the discrimination against those that have mental health issues, will change some of these types of discriminatory issues as well.

The practices of insurance companies in regards to mental health issues is disgraceful. It could be because the insurance companies feel that too many addicts are helped with their doctor's prescriptions, but this is not normally the case.

It's good to know that the government is finally standing up for patients that have mental issues to deal with, and that new regulations are now in place that should help those patients to get the care they need and in a timely manner.

I honestly would like to see our country get to the point where medical care is completely free, like it is in Canada. I know that the prices of everything else there is quite a bit higher than it is here, but it sure would be nice knowing that if you are in need of medical attention you wont have to pay dearly for it. I also know that there bus trips made by the elderly as well as others to Canada just to get their medical perscriptions filled because it is so much cheaper for them. How sad is it when it is cheaper to gather a group together to rent a bus and head to Canada to get the perscriptions filled that many desperatly need to improve their quality of life??

Socialized medicine is practiced in many countries, and you never hear a complaint from any of the people living with it.

In the US, people die every day just because they have no access to medical care.

It's a shame!
