Default Unexpected property damage.

I awoke from a nap today to my cell phone ringing. It was my daughter and she wanted to know why the highway patrol was in front of my house.

I got up and went outside to look and here someone had knocked down part of my front fence and block wall and left the scene. Luckily the neighbor chased him and got his license number. Then the parolman got the persons name.

I was told that the guy will probably be going to court and that I will most likely be paid restitution for the damages. So one never knows when something of this nature might happen.

Hopefully he was an insured motorist but I am thinking that he wasnt as there was some reason that he left the scene of an accident with property damage and this may not fare well for this person.

I will let you all know later how this turns out.

Heres the update. The guy was found and the state trooper called me yesterday to let me know that this fellow will be calling me to set up arrangements to repair my fence and block wall to its original state.

The trooper also thinks that the judge in this case, will make the guy pay restitution for the damage he caused.

If he would have just stopped and let me know what was going on, he wouldnt have ended up in all the trouble hes now in.

No phone call from the guy yet. The trooper told him that it would bode well for him with the judge if he came and fixed the fence etc.

I expect to hear from this person this week and will update you to let you know if he comes to fix the damage.

Last update! The young man did call me and he and an older contractor came and fixed the fence and the block wall. Then I painted both to match the rest of the fence etc.

So now all is in order once again.
