What to look for in Home Owners Insurance
There should be coverage on both your dwelling and other structures. And this coverage should include repair and rebuilding costs to all.
You should also have coverage on the contents of your home. This coverage should protect against fire, theft and other covered perils.
You should also have liability coverage. This will cover any damages done to other people on your property or elsewhere. It should also cover legal fees if needed.
You should also look to see if your policy includes Guest Medical Coverage. This coverage will pay for medical expenses of your Guest/Guests if they are injured in your home.
You should also look for Additional Living Expenses clauses in your policy so that if you have a fire or other damage that makes living in your home temporairly impossible, you will have coverage for hotel expenses, food etc.
Homeowners Insurance should cover the following: Fire, Lightning, Wind and Hail, Freezing of Plumbing, Smoke Damage, Theft, Explosion, and Falling Objects.
