SAN FRANCISCO - Yahoo Inc.'s efforts to revive takeover talks with Microsoft Corp. have reached a dead end, setting the stage for the Internet pioneer to turn over a piece of its advertising platform to online search leader Google Inc.

The news disclosed Thursday caused Yahoo shares to plunge 10 percent as investors abandoned hope that Microsoft would renew a nearly five-month quest to buy the Sunnyvale-based company.

Yahoo is going to drown itself if they aren't careful. They
have to stop hedging on their bets here folks. If they want
a merger they need to stop messing around and make a solid
decision before their time runs out and investors faith with it.

Does anyone have an update on this? It would be interesting to find our what has happened with these two companies, and if there shares have rebounded or not.
