Default 3-D HDTV'S Available Soon

Popularity is growing rapidly for 3-D movies at the box office, and many more will be available to the general public soon, to be viewed in the privacy of your own homes. This is not all though, folks, by the end of the year actual 3-D hdtv's will be on the market.

By Sebastian Raymond, Warner Bros. Pictures

In theaters soon: Brendan Fraser, Anita Briem and Josh Hutcherson in 3-D Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Quote:
3-D is already becoming a hit in theaters. Now Hollywood, TV makers and technology firms are trying to bring the eye-popping visuals-with-depth into your living room.
Recent 3-D versions of theatrical releases such as Meet the Robinsons and Beowulf have sold twice as many tickets or more for each showing as standard versions. So it's no surprise that studios have as many as 40 movies planned for viewing, either all or in part in 3-D. And more theaters are adding compatible projectors and screens.

This will be quite a change from the old black and white tv's I watched as a child. I imagine that the 3-D HDTV's though will be somewhat cost prohibitive in the beginning. I know several people in my family will be intrigued with the prospect of 3-D computer games, as they love playing pc games now, and playing them in 3-D will be so much more fun!

Lol, I was just sitting here reading this article and can remember when I was a kid at the 3-d movies and all the "ducking" that went on.

I imagine the young people would really like their games in 3-d, but I can imagine what games like Grand Theft Auto would look like, with the cars and such coming at you. It would be fun, but would definitely take some getting used to.
