Default A Recall on My Van!

I just got a letter in the mail from the Ford Company notifying me of a defective part on my van! Oh my, it's always something isn't it???

The recall notice says that after many years in service the Ford Motor Company cannot be confident that a speed control deactivation switch that is installed on my vehicle will not leak brake fluid posing the risk of a fire! It goes on to say that this can occur while the vehicle is being operated or while it is parked!

It says to take the vehicle to a Ford Motor Company authorized dealer to have the correct repairs made immediately. It says that until I have the repairs done that I should park the vehicle away from all structures to prevent a potential fire from spreading! How wonderful is that!!!

On the bright side, the parts and labor are free and I have an appointment in the morning to have the repairs made.

I swear this is just my luck. I will be driving it up to the dealer in the morning and along the way it will probably burst into flames! I will be a nervous wreck driving it up there lol!

Just in case someone reading this has the same vehicle and hasn't gotten the notice yet here is the info...

Just be thankful Pennypinch that nothing happened to your van prior to you getting this notice of recall.

There have been way to many recalls in my opinion from alot of car companies. Its really scary.

Does anyone know of a site that you can use to check and see if the car that your driving has had any recalls done on it? Something like that would really be helpful for anyone who is thinking of purchasing a used vehicle from an owner rather than a dealership.

I know I just purchased a used 95 Subaru Impreza, and now I am wondering if there have been any recalls on it or not.

Its has to be extremely scary to all of a sudden get a notice in the mail that the car that your driving could all of a sudden burst into flames. Thats something that I dont wanna have to worry about.
