Default Be Careful What You Say to the Car Salesman

When you are shopping for a vehicle, whether new or used, you need to be very careful what you say to the salesman. His job is to try to make as much money for the dealership as possible. You, on the other hand, want to pay the least amount as possible. The things you say can really impact the amount you will pay for the vehicle.

a car-buying transaction, even the nicest, most honest car salesman has interests that are very different from yours.
He's paid to sell you what his dealership has at as large a profit as possible. The better he does that, the more he, and the dealereship, make.
You, on the other hand, want the best car you can get at the best price you can get.
Welcome to capitalism. At some point, you have to negotiate those conflicting interests. As in all negotiations, there are certain things you definitely shouldn't let slip.

As in most things in life, you need to hold back your tongue in order to get the best deal. Don't be too eager, let them think you have other choices.

Default Be Careful What You Say to the Car Salesman

There are some very good points made in this article. It is hard to know what to say and not to say when buying a car. The salespeople really know what to say to get you to buy. A lot of times, we could end up buying the most expensive car on the lot, if we aren't careful. It's not a good thing for us to say the wrong thing and end up paying more for any vehicle in the end.

Default Be careful what you say to the car salesman.

This article has some great advice in it. And for sure dont let them know how desperate you are for a car. Its like putting out a red flag saying here I am, do a number on me, cause I really have no choice.

If you like a certain car, go look at a few others, maybe one of them longer that any of the other ones, this may throw them off the scent that you like the first car the best. And you may be able to get a better deal, when you go back to that one.

Always be aware of who is around you at a car lot and discuss things with your spouse in a lowered voice out of earshot of everyone.
