Default College Tuitions

My oldest daughter is a sophomore in highschool and so we have been thinking a lot lately about college. She has been saying for a long time now that she really wants to go to a bigger, more prestigious college vs a community college. I understand her feelings. There is only so much you can do at the community colleges as far as fields of expertise.

The problem is, the cost to go to a large college is out of this world. On average it's $25,000 per year. She wants to go for four to six years! I am proud of that but sick to my stomach as well because there is no way in hell i have that kind of money! It has me worried.

She gets great grades and she is in all of the "hard" classes such as trig, geometry, calculus, honors English and biology. But... the odds of getting an academic scholorship are slim to none around here.

She does play softball and she has the potential to get a sports scholorship but that probably won't carry her through.

I don't know how parents do this. I am seriously worried about this. I will no doubt have to take on another job to try and help but that won't be enough either. It's scary. I want the best for her but don't know how I will do it. She has all of the potential in the world but I'm not sure what will happen because of the costs.

I know exacltly how you feel my daughter is about to be eighteen in five months.I am so scared for her because she can not even decide what she wants to be as far as a career goes.

She needs to know theses things in order to get anywhere in life and she seems to be stalled in an I am not sure though process.

Community college is the only place that I can fford for her to go and maybe she will be able to get help from the state some how,if not I have told her she is going to have to help pay her tuition.I just do not have it.

I personally do not have any children, so this isn't a problem I have had to face in life. However I do know that there is a large amount of assistance out there which is available for those students have put forth a great effort and have decent grades in High School.

If you look online you will I am sure find loads of ideas and tips on getting help with making sure that your child manages to get into a college which they want and get into the courses of study to help them along in their career choice.

Here is one site that I found that may help you all in making sure that your children get what they want and deserve.

College Help

This site even though I did not fully read it seems to have some great information that may help you all out. At least I hope that it does.

I have found a ton of help from the guidance counselor at the college. She really helped my daughter to not only find help to pay for her education but also helped her to decide what she wanted to do based on the average pay scale for each job that she was interested in.

I have looked and really didn't understand half of what I found, but asking the counselor at school really helped us both to understand everything that we needed to know.

Understanding what you read is vital to know what your going to have to expect in the future and the choices that you make.

Though even when doing your research online if you do come across something that you do not understand you can either ask someone about it or simply look it up. That is the beauty of the internet. All the information that you need is out there just waiting on you to start looking for it.
