Default Cost of Fireworks

The weekend of the 4th of July, alot of people in my area were purchasing alot of fireworks and setting them off at their homes.

Of course it was really noisey here for quite a while,LOL. Though what surprised me was the amount people has put into buying these fireworks.

I know a young couple just down the street from us, purchased bags full of fireworks for their 4th of July celebrations. In total they spent nearly $500.00 in fireworks.

That same couple just about a week ago were saying how badly they were behind on bills and were in need of groceries and so on.

I cant understand why a person who cant seem to be able to pay bills are able to put so much money into fireworks.

There are at least 4 couples in my neighborhood who have done this. They complain that they cant afford this or that, yet are able to put hundreds of dollars into a couple hours worth of entertainment!!

It just so totally amazes me. We didnt purchase fireworks, execpt for some sparklers for our youngest daughter, and we have all of our bills paid.

I do understand that even when money is tight that sometimes you do need to just have a little bit of fun. Everyone needs to have some fun in life, though when you put a great deal of money into one night of fun, and leave your bills for another time, just isnt right.

We always buy a boatload of fireworks to put off for the kids on the 4th of July but this year we didn't. We just couldn'y justify spending all of that money on them this year with my husband barely getting work.
