Default Dish washers.

I really want to get a dishwasher for my home. I
am afraid however that it will end up like my coffee
pot. Filled with lime scale and unusable. I have well
water and it has ruined allot of coffee pots. It also
clogs up the hoses on my washing machine. I spend
to much time waiting on the rinse cycle because the
cold water runs so slowly.

I do try to switch it back to wash so that it fills quickly.
I forget sometimes because I am busy doing other things.
It is costing me a small fortune in electricity I am sure.
I know that I need to add a water softener before I get
a dishwasher so I am going to have to wait.

Have you guys got dishwashers? Which would you recommend?
I will do some research on-line and this will help me decide which
one I want to purchase. I just like to hear personal experiences
as I have a dryer that rips the spaghetti strap off of all of my
shirts. It has an area around the drum that broke within months
of purchasing it and I won't buy this brand again because of that.
These are the types of things I would like to hear about. If you
have a dishwasher and it has issues please share them.

I really wish that I could help you out on this one, but the truth is no one I know has a dish washer. I would love to have one but I know that I would proably never use it.
Though I will agree that having a water softner installed would be a good idea for you. Clogged hoses like you have on your washer will cost you alot on your energy bills, when your washer has to run so long while its attempting to fill up.

A friend of mine has a KitchenAid dishwasher that she simply loves. I honestly can't give you much information but she says that it really does the job, she doesn't have to hand wash any of the dishes or pots and pans before putting them in the dishwasher.

Many years ago, I purchased a portable dishwasher when I was working, going to college and had 3 teenage daughters to raise alone. I felt that the dishwasher would help free up some of the time that I was spending doing this particular chore, since rounding up my daughters to do the dishes was a constant hassle, . After having the dishwasher for about a month, I found that my electric bill was much higher than I expected, my water bill went through the roof, and I couldn't get my daughters to unload the dishes. I took the darn thing back to the store

Thank you. I had the same problem with my kids. I do however think that I will get one. I have well water and don't pay for that. I will however have to pay the electric so I will be looking at energy ratings very closely.
