Laptops and Cameras
It seems that almost every thing we buy these days needs to be recharged. This means that we spend a lot of cash on new battery packs for our laptops, cameras, etc.
If you read the directions (and few people read them thoroughly), you will see that these types of batteries need to be charged up and then used until the battery dies to allow the battery to recharge all the way. This should be done about 3 times to be sure that the battery's "memory" will keep recharging all the way for as long as possible.
If you are one of those people who's batteries always seem to die quickly and you are having to buy new ones way too soon, this is probably the reason. Even if you buy one of these second-hand or are having problems with one that you currently own, it will help keep that expensive laptop or other rechargeable electronic item to perform at it's best if you treat it as a new one, and recharge it and then use that charge up a few times.
This often will add several months or even years to your battery's performance. It is well worth the inconvenience of not having your electronic available for use for a few hours while it charges. (I simply run my electronic item until it dies just before I go to bed, then charge it overnight.)
