Default Major Toyota Recall

Wow guys. If you have purchased a Toyota listen up. Federal regulators have recalled 110,000 Toyota pick-up trucks in twenty states and in D.C.

The recalls are for the Toyota Tundra model years 2000 through 2003.

They say that road salts can cause excessive rusting or "excessive corrosion" which can result in the spare tire falling off or rear brakeline damage causing brake failure.

The ask that you immediately remove the spare tire before even attempting to drive the vehicle to a dealer for repairs.

Quote:
The states included in the recall are: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.

Toyota will either replace the damaged portion of the vehicle or apply a rust-resistant compound depending on the extent of the damage.

I saw this on the news. It was terrible that that one family all got killed and they think this is what caused it. If I had a toyota it would be back to be checked so fast it would make thier heads spin..

WOW this is horrible to hear. I cant believe that there have been so many cars being recalled for various problems. We trust these car companies to create vehicles that are safe for us to drive, but with all of the recalls I have been seeing lately I am not so sure what these companies are doing.

Rob is a co-owner of a garage and I am going to make sure that he knows of this information so that if anyone brings a Toyota into his garage that he informs them to get it to a dealership A.S.A.P!!!!

The goverment wanted to remove all of the old vehicles from the road with that whole cash for clunkers deal, but those old cars seem to be the better ones when it comes to safety issues such as these.

Well Rob has now been informed about this recall and plans to make sure that anyone driving a Toyota with the indicated year will be informed of this problem and help them get it taken care of.

Thanks for this post, it may have helped save alot of lives!!!
