Default Make Your Car Last

There isn't too many things more expensive in life than vehicles. When you get one you've got to make it last and there are ways to make it last for years and years.

First off you have to baby it. Don't drive it too hard or expect too much from it.

You HAVE to change the fluids according to the cars manuel. That includes the motor oil and tranmission fluid. You should also change the oil filter, air filter and have the transmission flushed.

You should also replace the spark plugs and wires.

You should also take care of the body and interior. Keep it clean and waxed. Keep the inside clean and make repairs to the seats if necessary.

If you baby your vehicle it will last you for years and years.

Lol, I was just thinking about my 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. Its been a wonderful car and one that has been very low maintainance.

We just put 4 all season tires on it and before that was done, we had the brakes replaced all the way around. Now mind you, I have had this car for 6 years and this is the first time weve had to replace the brakes.

I dont baby my car, as I am a fast driver, but I do check bodily fluids in it on a weekly basis since it is an older car and they do tend to use more oil than a newer one.

I buy a brand of antifreeze at Walmart called Tech which actually flushed the radiator and after 2 weeks we changed the antifreeze and put new in. What came out of the radiator with that first application of this antifreeze was just amazing.

Another thing that we all need to do in the winter time is to take our cars to the car wash a few times and spray out the fender wells as the salt from the roads can cause corrosion and rust and spraying them out will remove the accumulated salt.

Taking care of a good car is very important as you said and just a little periodic maintainance will not only keep your car running longer but will actually save you money in the long run.

The more we take care of the cars we drive the better off our cars are going to also take care of us.

By taking good care of our cars and treating them like gold, when you need them the most they are going to be there working for you.

I have purchased some really cheap cars in my life, though taking good care of it and making minor repairs to them, they ran great and I never had to worry about them breaking down on me.

Actually one car that I bought many years ago is still running today and it was a old car when I first bought it. This goes to show that taking good care of something means that it will be around for a long time.
