Default Need A New Water Heater!

Just when I thought that things couldn't get worse at my old man's place..... it does!!

His hot water heater is toast! He had to shower in cold water because it went last night. We havent headed out to price hot water heaters yet, but we will have to after he gets off work.

I just don't know if he should stick with a gas furnance, which is what he has now or if he should convert it over to electric. Does anyone know which is less expensive both for the water heater and the bills later on?

If you have any information on this please share it with me as soon as possible so that I can use it to help him choose the best option and save some money!
