Default New Computer Needed

Most of the electronic stores in my area like Circuit City, Best Buy and so on have all gone out of business. I have been in need of a new computer for a long time now.

I honestly don't know how this one has lasted so long. I have never really had a lot of problems with it, but I think that it is time to get a new one and give this one a break.

Though I don't know a whole lot about computers really. I do work online so I am on the internet a lot doing a variety of different things as well as playing a whole lot of games.

I know I need to find a computer that will allow me to do everything that I want to do yet still not cost me an arm and a leg in the end. The only place around here to actually get a computer right now is pretty much Walmart and they really don't have a selection to choose from unless your going to purchase a laptop and I need a desk top right now.

For my electronics I typically like to pick a big name brand and so on but last year I was desperate for a new pc. Mine had fried and I was going crazy. So I decided to see what Wal-Mart had to offer.

I found this e machines pc package that included a 19 inch flat screen moniter, speakers, mouse and keyboard and tower. All for under $400.00!

It has the CD/DVD player- burner, windows XP with the latest service pack and so much more. I can't even remember all of the details because it's been over a year ago that I bought it.

I love this PC. I have owned three others in the past plus a laptop and this is my favorite by far. The cheapest too!

I can run games that require a lot of memory and so on. I haven't had a single problem with it.

If I were you, I'd check out Wal-Mart and see what they have.

I would check out Walmart, but with all of the bad news that I keep hearing and seeing from them I am tempted to shop elsewhere. I don't know if I want to give a company that hires people because they won't want benefits or one which prefers to promote and pay males better than females my hard earned money or not.

I know I do need a new computer by I may just have to travel elsewhere or just take my chances and shop online for one.

Thanks for the tip though.

I got my computer at Best Buy,I paid about eight hundred dollars for it and it is a wireless built in lap top.I work on my computer a lot,as for as I work on line.
I have had no problems with it at all and I absolutely love it.

I have a Compact Presario with an eighteen inch screen, wireless in built in and I take it easily everywhere that I go.I would not buy another desk top, they are so inconvenient.

Sorry to hear your Best Buy store had closed down dimetime.
I bought my last computer at Best Buy and it's a HP pc. Don't buy an HP pc because all the software on their computers are HP related.
If you buy software that's not by HP, it has to recognize it as being compatible with HP before it will run the software...
Most of the time it's ok and your software will run, but the dang computer I have use to throw out errors because the software wasn't HP compatible. They may have fixed that issue by now.

My wife bought a Gateway and they give you an actual Windows recovery disc. Unlike HP where you have to burn your recovery onto another disc with their software as a backup. Kind of limited with what you can do there.

If you're thinking of buying a pc online, try New Egg or Tiger Direct. They always have deals on just about anything computer related.
My wife and I use New Egg most of the time for computer parts because they are cheaper there than at Best Buy most of the time.

I hope this helps you with your decision on buying a computer dimetime.

The computer that I am wanting to replace is actually a Gateway computer and really I can not complain about it at all. It has been a great computer and it still does get the job done, but then again it is outdated and time to give it a rest. I have no intention on getting rid of it. I will keep this one for more or less just goofing around on the internet.

The new computer when I get it will be used for my work online and playing games on. There are a lot of games that I love to play but this computer just cant handle them.

I really wish that best buy hadn't closed down. I know in neighboring states I believe that there is a few best buy's still open, so maybe when I do get the money saved up for a new computer I can get there some how and get another gateway if possible.

This is something I am gonna have to think carefully about because I have also been told that if I purchase some memory and a graphics card that this computer can be updated to the point that it will do everything that I am wanting to do. Though I don't know if that is really what I want to do or not.

I will just have to think seriously about all of this, and hopefully by the time that I have the money saved up for a computer I will have come to my decision finally.

Thanks everyone for all of your information and opinions on my little situation, I really appreciate your input.
