Default Remember When...

I thought that this would some interesting reading for everyone to enjoy.
Some of you may remember some of these and some won't.

Though there was a time in this country when you could buy gas for only 44 cents per gallon and of course now your lucky if you pay less than $3.00. Then of course there was also a time when cigarettes would cost a smoker less than $1.00 per pack and now days your lucky if you find a brand that you can deal with for $5.00 per pack. Eggs at one time would only cost you .25 a dozen.

It would be extremely nice if we all could get the pay checks that we get now with the prices of products from back then when things were much more inexpensive.

I think everyone would like that. To bad it will never happen. All we see these days is the prices of everything going up and up and up, making everything you buy now days pretty much a major purchase.

Though it sure is nice to dream!

I remember a lot of those. Those were the days when a candy bar was a nickle and bigger than they are today. But boy, that nickle was hard to come by.

Pop was a dime a big bottle and only came in two flavors. Orange or red pop, and yes red pop was the name of it.

Ive seen cigarettes go up and up through the years. But what everyone has to remember was that it was just as expensive to buy that stuff at those prices back in the day as it is to buy the same stuff today.

I remember a couple prices vividly when I was around 5 years old (sometime back in the 60's)...
My dad bought stamps for his letters, 3 cents each.
My dad gave me a one-gallon gas can and had me walk to the gas station some three or four blocks away (by myself), 33 cents a gallon (he gave me 35 cents and told me to bring back the change).

Oh, and the Five and Dime store, most everything was 5 cents and 10 cents and not just candy. You can't find that anymore.
I remember my dad buying those plastic army men for me and I think they were like 2 for 5 cents.

Sure do miss those days my friends.

Like I said it sure would be nice to have the prices of products from back in the day all the while getting the pay rates that we have today.

We really wouldn't have worries in this world, but of course that sure as hell isn't going to happen, but it is nice to think about how nice it would be!!

Now days prices only seem to go up and never back down again. Though it sure would be nice if the prices would go down at least a little bit. The more money that we all can save the better off everyone is going to be.
