Six Police Interceptors approved
In Ocean City, the council has just approved the purchase of six new patrol cars for the police department.
Ford Motor Co. has kindly offered the town these six new Police Interceptors which are 2009 models for the price of the 2008 models.
With this discounted price these vehicles will cost just over $22,000 each. The council was prepared to purchase these vehicles for 136,000, but thanks to the Ford Motor Co, offering this great discount the town will save almost $14,000.
There was talk of possibly getting Ford Escape hybrids,to help save on the fuel costs of running a regular car, though these vehicles are scarce right now and require around a three year waiting period to aquire one.
There are plans to bring the concept of these Hybrid cars up at the next meeting of the towns Police Commission.
