There is a 300 million cash for clunkers type program, it will be gearing up this fall, to encourage people to get rid of those old appliances for more engery- efficient ones.

This program is a rebate program you do not trade in like the auto one was, you first purchase a new engery star appliance, then you apply for the rebate.

States have until October 15th to set up the program, to see what engery star appliances will get rebates, and how big it will be.

The funds will not be there until later this year, or early 2010.

Well I guess its time for me to replace my old refrigator, now that I can a rebate by doing this.
