Wink save on baby food and make your own

Saving money is very important. By making your own baby food you will save yourself alot of money not to mention you will be in total control of what your child is eating at all times.Just by starting your child out eating fruits and vegetables early will make a lasting impression through out the childs life.

When buying vegetables and fruits to make baby food be sure to buy those which are pesticide-free. Your child does not need to eat chemicals.
Be sure to scrub vegetables and fruits with a veggie brush, remove any seeds, pits and peels. If using any meats be sure to remove as much fat as possible.
Steam the vegetables so that they become soft and easier to chew, this will also preserve more of the minerals and vitamins than boiling them would.

Instead of attempting to alter the flavor by adding sugar or salt, try adding lemon juice instead, Lemon juice is a natural flavor enhancer and a great preservative.
Never deep fry your baby foods, Deep frying foods adds to the fat content and this is something your child doesnt need.

There is no need to prepare seperate meals for your baby, simply take portions of regular meals (before adding seasonings) and mash or grind them into the appropriate stage for your baby. You can make several meals for your baby at one time just by filling an ice cube try with the mashed meals and wrap with cellophane and freeze. Then when needed just remove one serving size at a time and warm, be sure not to over heat the food.

When your child graduates from cube sized meals you can store the home made food in baby jars which most people save or small plastic containers which are freezer safe. Remember to rotate the frozen baby food and put the most recently made in the back. Frozen baby food can be safely kept for up to three months at a time, so make sure you lable what it is and date it. This is very important.

Making your own baby food is fast, easy, and saves money.

Default save on baby food and make your own

I used to make most of my babies' food. I wanted to be sure that they were getting good nutritious food, without all the preservatives. I did purchase a few regular jars for those times when we would be out of our home for some occasion, because of the convenience, but otherwise, they ate homemade food.

Thats great Dollardaze. I personally like the idea of making home made baby foods because you dont have all those preservatives, and you actually control what is going into your babys sensitive tummy. If you use veggies from your own garden it is a sure fire way to make sure your baby isnt going to be eating anything which was sprayed with pesticide's, which is very important.
