Default Saving Cash on Commuting

Even though gas prices have come down some over the past two weeks or so the cost of commuting is enough to break anyones bank.

The average gas tank holds fifteen gallons. That means on average it costs $47 dollars to fill up.

Most people cannot get back and forth all week on one tank of gas.

I know one third of my paycheck goes right into the gas tank.

One thing we can do is to avoid needless running. On the way home from work stop and do your shopping rather than making another trip out.

Don't be a lead foot on the accelerator. That eats up more fuel.

Talk with people you work with and see if you can't ride together. Take turns week to week.

Check out the bus route in your area. The bus is a lot more affordable than gas. Not to mention you have no upkeep costs.

There are things that we can do to help combat the high cost of gas.
