Default Saving on Vacations

Sometimes a "staycation" just won't do. You need a getaway. I know I get like that. Having the money to go on vacation is another story though. There are some things you can do to make a vacation more affordable.

First of all you need to be flexible. Some dates are simply more expensive than others. Typically traveling to a destination during the week is cheaper than on the weekends.

Something else to consider is where you are going. Some cities are simply more expensive than others.

Buy package deals whenever possible. You will get a much better deal.

Sign up at websites to receive discounts.

Take your own food. This is especially good for theme parks which will cost you an arm and a leg just for a soda. Pack up a cooler with drinks, lunch meats and fruit.
