Default Secret Shopping

I read a couple stories about these couples who are either now divorced or in marriage counseling because the spouse was caught secret shopping and hiding debt from his/her partner.

Not good.

Money seems to be one of the top issues with married couples anyhow. Add hiding purchases and credit card debt and thats a mix sure to destroy a marriage.

We have a garage and storage unit full of stuff and he continues to buy more. I'm budgeting and then I turn around and there will be four crock-pots. That's been an issue for us, financially and emotionally, because where does it end? We've been together for 10 years and I have to start drawing the line because we have kids.
Can you imagine, trying to keep a budget only to find that your husband has been on shopping sprees and lying about it.

Default Re: Secret Shopping

I could not imagine what it must be like shopping and then trying to hide it all from my other half.

I am a bit shocked that this is the cause of divorce. You would think that a a couple could manage to work through something like this and keep it together but I guess not.

My old man's parents are the same way as some of these couples. She shops all of the time spending money she really shouldn't, then hides the majority of it from her husband. Not that he would really complain but she still refuses to show him.

I never thought much about shopping being an addiction but I guess it sure is something to worry about these days.
