Default Summer Vacation Expenses

I have really been wanting to travel to somewhere this summer. I need to get out of here for a little while lol! My life has become so tyoical because there is no time for anything else. I need a get away!

The only problem is being able to afford a get away.

With airfare going higher and higher and gas prices being what they are. Either one would take a huge chunk from the vacation budget.

I was reading a little online about vacation expenses and I read a review from someone who swears by using HotWire.com and Priceline.com for great deals on car rentals, hotel stays and so on.

Anyone here use either of those sites?

I'm just wondering if they are as great as this person says.

Default Re: Summer Vacation Expenses

No, I havent tried either one of those places simply because our vacations usually consist of visits to our very extended family.

This year though, because I also need to just get away from it all, I think my husband and I will opt for a cabin for a week at one of our local lakes.

Where we live, we have the option of Tappan Lake, Senecaville Lake, Clendinin Lake, or Piedmont Lake. A week of lounging on beach and fishing would be just the ticket for an inexpensive getaway that wont cost an arm and a leg.
