The Forex is divided into levels of access. Top access is made up of the Inter-Bank Market. Which is made up of the largest investment banking firms.

Next there are the smaller investment banks, then come the large multi-national corporations.

There are also banks, commmercial companies, central banks, Hedge Funds, Investment Management firms, and Retail Forex Brokers.

Others include non bank foreign exchange companies and money transfer/Remittance companies.

The highest of these participants is the Inter-Bank Market. This is made up of the largest Investment Banking firms. Activity within this participant is usually unavailable and not known to people outside the inner circle.
