Investing for Beginners
I don't deal in the stock market but I would like to learn how and possibly get my feet wet one day so in researching information on the stock market I thought it would be a good start to begin with the termanology.. here is what I found
Quote:
What is a Bear Market?
A bear market is slang for when stock prices have decreased for an extended period of time. If an investor is "bearish" they are referred to as a bear because they believe a particular company, industry, sector, or market in general is going to go down.
What is a Bull Market?
A bull market is slang for when stock prices have increased for an extended period of time. If an investor is "bullish" they are referred to as a "bull" because they believe a particular company, industry, sector, or market in general is going to go up.
What is a Rally in the Stock Market?
A rally is a term used to describe a sudden rise in stock prices, especially after a period of falling ones. [For example, if the stock market drops in the morning and investors rush in to buy companies at the cheaper prices, the stock market has rallied.]
