Default Oil at record high/ stocks rise slightly

Oil $124 a barrel and gas prices still rising. I saw on the news last night where a man was in line to get gas at the prices of $3.44 by the time he got to the pump they changed the price and had to pay $3.74. A .30 cent hike. Now that is just crazy.

NEW YORK (AP) - Wall Street closed a quiet session with a moderate advance Thursday, with energy and other commodities companies leading the market as oil prices extended their record-breaking run.

The price of crude oil swept past $124 a barrel in late New York Mercantile Exchange trading, while gasoline rose to a new record of its own at the pump, climbing to a national average of nearly $3.65 a gallon.

These prices have got to stop. I just hope that we don't have to wait until Pres. Bush is out of office. We will all surely be in major debt by then.

The gasoline crisis is going to be just that, a real crisis for people. Unless something changes soon, there will be more and more people having to quit their jobs simply because they wont be able to afford to get back and forth to work.

I wonder how many people are going without lunch, just to save the money to put in their gas tanks? How many people are cutting back on the amount of food and letting some small bills go just so they can get to work to pay the rent, or house payment, buy food, and pay utilities?

This is such a shame, and I cant understand why this is allowed to go on.

A shame indeed...This seriously needs to get under control. Our new president has some big issues waiting for him/her.
