Default Recession

Most of us have thought this and now we can read it. I just saw and article that included the words worse than I expected. I knew it was just a matter of time until someone finally admitted we were recession bound.
I like many am as prepared as I can be. But many persons that I know are already suffering. Winter is coming and their freezers are nearly empty. What are we to do? I thought that the bailout was going to help didn't you. Well I really didn't think so I thought that it was only going to buy the companies some time. However it would not help us and it appears that I was correct there. God help us all to weather the storm that is our economy and I pray that we will survive the winter.

The bailout would have helped the companies, but what about all the people that are going to be having so many problems surviving this winter? What is being done to help them.

I was told that Heap will only help with one tank of oil this winter, where before you could apply to Heap and then go to your local CAC office for emergency oil. This is certainly going to hurt a lot of people this winter.

And what about our elderly? Again they have to decide between food, medicine, and heat because they are on such a limited income.

Also, what about all the people that have been displaced from their homes because of foreclosures, where are they now and how are they going to make it this winter?

I don't know how anyone could even think that we weren't in a recession. The economy is pretty much in the toilet right now........I expect to hear the word "depression" in the near future, unless something big happens to turn it all around.

I am like you.....I don't know what the poor are going to do this winter. I feel for those that are homeless and the elderly. It's really going to be hard for them to keep warm this winter.

I hope that everyone reading this post, and can do anything to help them, will do so. Any kind of help would be appreciated, simply going daily to check on an elderly neighbor to make sure they still have heat, and warm clothing, and food is a great way to help.

If you have some blankets, coats, gloves, hats, etc. that you no longer use, donate them to a shelter in your area to help the homeless stay warm. These are little things, but could save someone's life this winter.

The sad part here is that there are allot more homeless this year than last. If you remember the news reports they couldn't house them all then what are they going to do now.
I don't want to see the reports of how many die this winter from exposure and starvation. It makes me sad now because I know that it will be a very high number.

I really don't think that anyone thought we weren't headed for a recession. I just think that many of the big wigs didn't want to have to admit that they were wrong and that they handled things in a bad manner which helped cause the mess we are in.

I too worry about those who have lost their homes and those who depend on the extra help like the HEAP program to help them through the winter. This is where folks like you and me are needed the most. We can all reach out a hand to somebody we know who needs help and give them help. It doesn't have to be a money thing, it can be something as simple as a warm winter coat hanging in your closet or a warm meal. Any small thing is just as important as anything big you could do.
