Wall Street identity crisis.
Well, theres a problem with the names of arenas and teams that bear the names of financial companies that have disappeared or are in distress because of todays economical woes.
Some of the entities that are facing the name problem are Wachovia Center arena, Wamu theatres, who are facing a problem with the names they now have because of the uncertain future of the companies they are named after.
Rob Vogel, of the Bonham Group, who broker sponsorship and namin of arenas etc says that "Its in everyones interest to get that rebranded as quickly as possible."
A for instance of renaming when a corporation collapses would be of Enron field, named after Enron Corp which collapsed after a case of accounting fraud was found against them, and Enron field was immediately renamed Minute Maid Park.
The cost of renaming some places could run as high as $1 million dollars for new signs, uniforms and logos etc.
So it is plain to see that the collapse of some businesses and banks do have some pretty far reaching effects.
