Walmart profits after slashing prices 30%

I have to confess I definatly shop at walmart for almost everything. I look for every deal I can and there prices are lower than the grocery stores where detergents and house hold cleaners are concerned. I also like there clothes better than target and Kmart. So as they slash prices more people go shopping there and there Shares so a good profit.

NEW YORK (May 13) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc, the world's largest retailer, reported a 7 percent rise in quarterly profit on Tuesday as discounts drew U.S. shoppers looking for bargains on necessities like food and pharmacy items.
Net income rose to $3.02 billion, or 76 cents per share, in the first quarter ended on April 30, from $2.83 billion, or 68 cents per share, a year earlier.

The results matched the analysts' average forecast, according to Reuters Estimates.

So as Walmart do there best to keep prices low I will continue to shop there for just about everything.

It is great to hear news of a big business willing to slash prices for the consumers and I am glad they are also benefitting from it. Maybe other businesses will follow suit. Walmart's new prescription prices are outstanding. Hopefully people won't have to choose between buying food or their meds any longer!
